"It starts with something that u don't know why, does'nt really matter how hard u try.........." This was something which Linkin Park might have written when he was working in some Software company........Just kidding.......but how in reality could he be so meanigful in that song?. He does make some small sense in that song. But what sense?????......

"We have a total strength of around 50,ooo employees spread all around the world. We work on all technologies and we work along with all major clients in this industry....blah blah etc etc" what else could one hear in a Pre-Palacement talk?. As usual, the projector in the college has some starting trouble (less does the projector know that this is the first big placement that my college was expecting. For some, it showed something bad, "Arambame seri illa". For some it really did not matter a lot, and for the rest they were already dreaming of showing their offer letters to their dad and mom....."mummy, nan select aiten.....enaku theriyum pa nee select aiduvanu...." these words went around my mind as i was dreaming of a big success in front of me....
A gathering of 450 odd students.....Who knew who are the lucky candidates at the EOD (might be they were not lucky by getting selected, we must ask them now :)) For sure the padips from all departments were a sure shot....."oru department la irrundhu 20 peru vechukuta kuda namma department la 25 students, wont we be one among that?." I could hear one guy next to me whispering this with his friend while i pretended to be too keen in the PPT, whereas in reality, i had already lost my patience......"Please go to your respective halls where you will have to take your tests...." as time passes test retults are out, 450 becomes 200, interviews go around, 250 becomes 100, HR comes to finally round this number off to 75.......God 75 students are now into this big company.....Good or bad, their placement is finalised....Nothing can change it now.....

As i stopped my bike on seeing red, i finished this flash back also.....Its almost 3 years since this dream came into a reality and i am now a legacy member of a 11 member team....ooops too technical right?. Ya i am in this team for the past 2 years....Gone through all ups and downs of this project.....Morning coffees, afternoon lunches, evening snacks, night pizzas.......Suprised?. but yes you read it right.......all of those are food items......so where is that 4 letter word called "Work"?. oh that is stuck deep in between those food breaks......Never ending Client calls, Deadly deadlines (they have named it rightly to be called "dead" ), late night debuggings, hourly team meetings......and what not?. All these happen every now and then in all teams......and at End of day all that you can confirm is, you have not done even a single meanigful task for the day......then why all these rush and push for?. Appraisals, Hikes, peer reviews, manager review etc etc all happen regularly for no one's benefit. then why all these?. Did we ever think things will look so confusing 3 years ago?. Should i jump to a new company or should i pursue my higher studies or should i stay back until i get a different coloured tool from my company for my gained exp?. or should i???????? this list will keep growing until you will finally feel that there is nothing you can do but just sit back and have a cup of coffee with your team mate who like you just now finished scanning through the same "should I" list......While you still have your cup of coffee, your friends would have either compelted their master or jumped for a good pay or atleast got married ;)......
Appreciations for something you did not do, and escalations for something that you did are additional traits of unforced errors that you do daily.....
Some sit in front of their orkut profiles day in and day out, some have their chargers plugged into their mobiles all day while they continue talking with their GFs/BFs, while guys like me have nothing much to do rather than sit like this and write blogs.....atleast i am happy that there are some who are also like me sitting idle reading this blog of mine :)....lolz......take it easy dudes, after all we are software engineers............ :)
